Martinsville falls to Clayton
Jamison scores 24 in loss

Martinsville’s boys basketball team lost a holiday tournament basketball game 74-58 to Clayton (N.C.) High School at Morehead High School in Eden, N.C.

Anthony Gaskins and Gary Clark led the comets with 23 points, but Martinsville’s Paris Jamison led all scorers with 24 points.

Demetrius Davis chipped in 12 points for the Bulldogs.

Martinsville (4-6) and Clayton were tied nearing halftime, but Clayton hit a couple of 3-pointers to pull away at the break.

Clayton outscored M’ville 22-15 in the 3rd quarter and 15-13 in the fourth quarter.

Gaskins made four 3-pointers.

Clark, one of Clayton’s leading scorers, is a 6-foot-7 forward. He has scholarship offers to UNC-Charlotte, East Carolina, UNC-Wilmington and Virginia Commonwealth University.

The Bulldogs will play today at 3 p.m. against Burlington (N.C.) Williams High School.
