BREAKING NEWS: Man charged after city incident

A Martinsville man is being held with no bond on four charges after an incident on Cemetery Street in the city Thursday night.
Quinn Lamar Hairston, 23, of 14 Dunlap St., Martinsville, was charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of cocaine and malicious wounding, according to a Martinsville Police Department news release.
He is being held in the Martinsville jail without bond, the release stated.
Shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday, city officers responded to a call on the 100 block of Cemetery Street regarding a possible shooting incident, the release stated. They found shots had been fired inside residence but no one had been struck, the release added.
One person had visible injuries received in a fight, the release stated. Capt. Eddie Cassady said Thursday night that the injury was a cut on the person’s head.
Also, a firearm and spent shell casings were recovered from inside the residence, according to the release. Cassady also said Thursday that narcotics were found at the scene.
