BREAKING NEWS: City lifts boiling advisory lifted
Boiling water no long necessary in parts of the city

Monday, July 15, 2013

Martinsville water customer no longer need to boil their water, according to a city news release.

Boiling had been advised for areas around Market Street since Friday after a waterline break in the area of Bridge Street and Memorial Boulevard caused a “significant loss of pressure isolated to that area of the distribution system,” Monday’s release stated.

“We are pleased to report that the problem has been corrected and that it is no longer necessary to use boiled tap water or bottled water for drinking and cooking. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience,” according to the release.
