Amanda Leigh Hodges and Eric Anthony Troll, both of Richmond, were married on Oct. 19 at the historic Mankin Mansion in Richmond. Pastor Timothy Cole performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Pat and Mary Matthews of Little River, S.C., formerly of Collinsville, and G. David Hodges of Collinsville. She is the granddaughter of Lillie G. Starling of Martinsville and the late Hugh A. Starling Sr. and the late Dennis and Ercell Hodges.
The bridegroom is the son of Rick and Maureen Troll of Overland Park, Kan. He is the grandson of Leonard D. Troll of Overland Park and the late Sara L. Troll and the late Eileen L. Gooding and Robert John Haggerton Sr.
The bride was escorted by her father, G. David Hodges. She wore a ball gown with a sweetheart neckline, a rouched bodice with beads and sequins and a chapel-length train. She wore a shrug and a fingertip-length veil. She carried a bouquet of white hydrangea, green hypericum berries, Picasso calla lilies, white and dark purple orchids, purple Freesia, white roses, rosemary and dried lavender.
Maid of honor was Emily Wooley of Richmond. She wore a dark purple satin A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline and a rouched bodice. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of light purple tipped hydrangea, green hypericum berries, dark purple mokara orchids and dark pink orchids.
Bridesmaids were Rachel Bryant of Boise, Idaho, and Jaime Woodall and Melissa Hunter, both of Richmond. Their dresses and bouquets matched those of the maid of honor.
Best man was Rocky Sin of Alexandria.
Groomsmen were brother of the bridegroom Karl Troll of Kearney, Neb., brother of the bride Brandon Hodges of Richmond and Schuyler Shane of Philadelphia.
Ushers were Nick O’Grady and Travis Pittman, both of Philadelphia.
A reception was held at the mansion.
The couple took a honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii.
They live in Richmond.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Bassett High School, a 2008 graduate of James Madison University and a 2013 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a hydrologic technician for the U.S. Geological Survey Department of Interiors.
The bridegroom is a 2004 graduate of John Randolph Tucker High School and a 2008 graduate of James Madison University. He is an analyst for the U.S. Department of Defense.
Prior to the wedding, the couple was honored on the following occasions: Aug. 3, a bridal shower at the home of Melissa Hunter, hosted by her, Emily Wooley and Jaime Woodall; Sept. 8, a bridal shower at the home of Rosa Collins in Martinsville, hosted by the Starling family; and Oct. 18, a rehearsal dinner at Old City Bar in Richmond, hosted by Rick and Maureen Troll.
