DRBA volunteers spruce up banks of Smith River

Members of several groups pitched in for the Smith River cleanup on Saturday.

The Dan River Basin Association, in partnership with Henry County and Gateway Streetscape, holds a 30-mile river cleanup on the Smith each August.

The organizers asked groups to pick a favorite section of river and work on it ahead of time or on the day of the cleanup.

Rebels make crash investigation difficult
