SNICKERDOODLES
Desserts

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup shortening (may be part butter or margarine)
  • 11â�„2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3â�„4 cups self-rising flour
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 TBS sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix shortening, sugar and eggs thoroughly. Blend flour and cream of tartar. Stir into original mixture. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in mixture of 2 TBS. sugar and cinnamon. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. These cookies puff up at first and then flatten. Makes 6 dozen.
