1â�„2 lb. thick sliced bacon (about six slices)
30 to 36 stems asparagus
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place bacon slices on wire rack in baking pan. Cook for 10-15 minutes until bacon is cooked but not crisp (slightly limp). Leave some drippings in the pan.
Snap off hard bottoms of asparagus. Wrap one slice of cooked bacon around a small bundle of five or six asparagus spears. Secure at the top and bottom with a wooden toothpick.
Brush some bacon drippings onto the heads of the asparagus and place back in the bottom of the baking pan in which bacon was cooked. Salt lightly and place in oven for 20 minutes or until bacon is crisp.
