ALMOND FUDGE CAKE

11â�„2 cups slivered almonds
1 (12 oz.) package chocolate chips
1 box chocolate or chocolate fudge cake mix
1 package (4 oz.) chocolate or chocolate fudge instant pudding
1â�„4 cup oil
1â�„2 cup water
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond flavoring
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
Toast almonds for 3 to 5 minutes. Spread 1â�„2 cup on bottom of pan.
In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except almonds and chocolate chips. Beat at medium speed for four minutes. Stir in chocolate chips and remaining almonds. Pour into pan. Bake for 70 minutes or until cake tests done.
