Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream

  • 2 3 1/2 oz. pkgs. instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 12-oz. can evaporated milk
  • 1 14-oz. sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 10-0z. jars maraschino cherries
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 1/2 gallon whole milk
Check for any remaining seeds in cherries (use rubber gloves). Chop cherries, set aside.
Mix the first four ingredients together very well, leaving no lumps. Add cherries, vanilla and milk, mixing very well. Pour in gallon freezer and freeze until ready.
Note: other fruits may be substituted such as peaches, strawberries or pineapple. Or, instead of fruit, use crushed candy bar or cookies.
