  • 21â�„4 cups sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1â�„3 tsp baking soda
  • 1â�„2 tsp salt
  • 3â�„4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup finely chopped nuts
  • 1 cup finely chopped dates
  • 1â�„3 cup finely chopped cherries
  • 5 cups corn flakes, crushed
  • 15 cherries, quartered
Crush corn flakes. Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Measure butter and sugar in a bowl. Beat until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients. Stir in nuts, dates and cherries. Shape level tablespoon of dough into balls. Roll in crushed corn flakes. Place on greased cookie sheet. Top each with a cherry quarter. Bake 375 degrees about 12 minutes. Remove at once to wire rack.
