  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 cups applesauce
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 cup raisins, cut in half
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup peach preserves
  • 1 cup nuts, optional
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Mix the baking soda with the applesauce and set aside.
Thoroughly mix the butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition. In a separate bowl, combine the spices, raisins and flour. Combine the sugar mixture, flour mixture, applesauce, preserves and nuts; pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake for 11?2 to 2 hours.
