  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1?2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 cup milk
  • Icing ingredients:
  • 1?2 cup butter
  • 4 TBS cocoa
  • 6 TBS milk
  • 1-lb. box powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Cream together butter, oil and sugar. Beat in eggs.
Mix flour, salt, baking powder and cocoa.
To sugar mixture, add dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla, stirring well after each addition.
Pour batter into tube pan and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
To make icing:
Combine butter, cocoa and milk in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add sugar and vanilla. Beat well.
Let cool before spreading onto cake.
