Italian Meat Casserole

  • 1 lb. ground beef (chuck is good)
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion or 1 TBS minced onion
  • 1 envelope spaghetti sauce mix
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • 1 8-oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 8-oz. can crescent rolls
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 TBS margarine, melted
Heat oven to 375 degrees. In frying pan, brown ground beef and onion. Drain. Stir in sauce mix and tomato sauce; heat until bubbly. Pour hot meat mixture into greased 12x8 or 13x9 inch baking dish.
Combine cheese and sour cream and spoon over meat.
Separate crescent dough into two rectangles. Combine Parmesan cheese and margarine and spread evenly over dough. Bake at 375 degrees for 18 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into squares and serve.
