  • 2 cups granola
  • 2 cups Brown Rice Crisps cereal
  • 1/2 cup sucanat or brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey or rice syrup
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter or other nut butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 cup carob chips
Mix the cereals in a medium-large mixing bowl.
Lightly boil the honey and sugar for 1 minute in a saucepan, stirring. Stir in the peanut butter and vanilla. Drizzle the cooked mixture over the cereal. Toss ingredients gently to mix well. Let the mixture cool for five minutes before stirring in carob chips.
Oil a 9- by 13-inch baking dish. Spread the mixture in the dish. Using a plastic bag or wrap as a glove to press down firmly. Cool, then cut into bite-size bars.
