Ingredients:
  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • 1â�„2 cup (overflowing) shortening
  • 2 cups buttermilk
Preheat oven to 450 degrees and grease flat pan. With fork, cut shortening into flour. Gradually pour in the buttermilk, kneading with hand or electric mixer just until well mixed. Form the dough into a disc and lay it on a floured surface. Roll the dough about 1�2 inch thick and cut out biscuits using aluminum can, glass or biscuit cutter. Lay them on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes in a 450-degree oven.
