  • 6 cups of Granny Smith apples
  • 1â�„2-3â�„4 cups sugar
  • 3â�„4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1â�„2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 TBS tapioca (can use flour or cornstarch)
  • 1 pie crust
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Chop apples into slices 1�8 inch thick. Mix sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and tapioca into apples. Pour into into pie shell. Place guard (such as a pie ring or aluminum foil) around rim of pie. Bake 35-40 minutes. In the final 10 minutes of baking, remove guard from rim of pie shell so edges will brown.
