Swiss Chard Saute
Vegetables & Side Dishes

Ingredients:
  • 1 TBS extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 lb. Swiss Chard
  • 1 medium sweet onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. dried chili flakes
  • 1 TBS water
  • 1 tsp. salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 lemon cut in half
Remove leaves from stems. Roughly chop stems. Place skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil and sauté chopped stems until tender, about 10 minutes. Add onions and garlic to stems and continue to cook until onions are translucent. Roll leaves and slice into strips. Add leaves to pan with chilies, water, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until tender, about 8 minutes. Remove from pan to serving dish, squeeze lemon juice over greens and serve.
