German Chocolate Bars

1 box German chocolate cake mix
2/3 cup cold butter
1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
1 can (15 ounces) coconut-pecan frosting
1/4 cup milk
Put cake mix in a bowl and cut in the butter until crumbly. Press 2 1/2 cups of that crumb mixture into a greased 12 inch x 9 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
Immediately sprinkle hot mixture with chocolate chips. Drop frosting by the tablespoonfuls over the chips. Stir milk into the remaining crumb mixture and drop by teaspoonfuls over the top.
Bake 25-30 minutes more or until it gets bubbly around the edges and the top is cracked. Cool on a wire rack. Refrigerate for 4 hours before cutting.
