IDA COMPTON’S CHICKEN SALAD

Ingredients:
  • 1â�„3 cup sugar
  • 1â�„3 cup sugar substitute
  • 11â�„2 cups white grapes
  • One 22-oz. can cooked chicken
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1â�„2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1â�„2 cup shredded cheese
Cut off the ends of the grapes (the ends are bitter) and discard. Cut grapes in half. Pour sugar over the grapes. Leave in refrigerator for a few hours, then rinse off sugar. (This pulls the juice out of the grapes.)
Chop the chicken finely. Add to it the grapes, salt, pecans and cheese; mix. Add mayonnaise and stir.
