CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE

Ingredients:
  • 1â�„2 lb. butter, softened
  • 1â�„2 cup solid shortening
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1â�„2 tsp. salt
  • 1â�„2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1â�„2 cup cocoa
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
Cream butter and shortening. Add sugar and eggs, beating after each. Mix in milk. Sift dry ingredients and beat into mixture. Bake in a tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 hour 40 minutes.
Good plain or with chocolate frosting.
