Contributed by:
  • 2 cans blackberry pie filling
  • 1 bag frozen blackberries
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 stick butter
Spoon pie filling into a 12-inch round, 3-inch high cake pan. Add frozen berries and level out with a spoon. Dump cake mix over berries and spoon out flat. Cut butter into pats 18-14 inch thick and drop all over cake mix. Bake at 325-350 degrees until golden brown.
Other flavors of fillings and fruits may be used. The fruitfilling layer needs to be soupy. The liquid from the filling is what moistens the cake.
