Contributed by:
  • 3 cups pineapple juice
  • 1 (14 oz.) can diced or stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup tomato paste, puree or ketchup
  • 1-2 TBS honey, optional
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 TBS salt
  • 1 TBS onion powder
  • 3 TBS cornstarch
Place all ingredients except cornstarch in blender and blend enough to chop the onion and peppers but not puree the mixture. Pour into a saucepan and bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.
Mix cornstarch with a small amount of water and slowly stir it into the simmering sauce until the sauce reaches the desired thickness.
