  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 TBS cornstarch
  • 1â�„4 tsp. salt
  • 1â�„4 cup cocoa
  • 2 cups milk, divided
  • 3 beaten egg yolks
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 TBS butter
  • 1 pie crust
  • Meringue
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch, salt and cocoa. Stir well.
Add 1�2 cup milk. Scald 11�2 cups milk and stir into chocolate mixture.
Cook in microwave for 3 minutes. Stir. Cook for three minutes more.
Pour beaten egg yolk in slowly, stirring fast. Add vanilla and butter.
Stir well and pour into baked pie crust. Cover with meringue. Bake at 350 degrees until meringue is brown.
