Notice of Availability Blue Ridge Regional Airport Runway Extension Draft Environmental Assessment The Blue Ridge Airport Authority, owner and operator of the Blue Ridge Regional Airport (MTV), has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the following projects (together referred to as the Proposed Action): Extend the Airport's runway and parallel taxiway from 5,002 feet to 6,000 feet with required safety areas, navigational aids, lighting, marking, air field signage, security fence, security gates, obstruction removal, and up- dated airport approach procedures. Realign Route 698 west of the proposed extended runway to remove road from runway's path. Provide stormwater management facilities to handle extended runway and taxiway stormwater runoff as well as stormwater for Route 698 re alignment. Acquire 45 acres of property and an additional 14.3 acres in airspace easements for the protection of the Airport's airspace associated with the extended runway. A copy of the Draft EA is available for public review August 1st thru September 14th during business hours (8am -5pm) at the following location: Blue Ridge Regional Airport Terminal Building, 525 Airport Drive, Martinsville, VA 24112 and online at Eden & Associates website (http://www.edenandassociates.com/). Hard copies of the draft document are available upon request for a fee to cover printing and postage.
