They lined up on a chilly Saturday morning for a chance to shop at the decades-old tradition in Martinsville, the Bargain Fair.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic shoppers were limited to 25 at a time, starting at 8 a.m., to enter the warehouse on Franklin Street and look for bargains. Some arrived as early as 5:45, and the line kept forming. Temperature checks were conducted at the door, and masks were required inside.
This is the biggest fundraiser for the Charity League of Martinsville-Henry County, which uses the income to provide scholarships to area high school and college students.
