Joan Ziglar was sworn in last month as a district court judge for the 21st Judicial District, which includes courts in Henry and Patrick counties and the city of Martinsville. Circuit Court Judge David V. Williams administered the oath – called an “investiture” – in Courtroom A as fellow judges Martin F. Clark Jr., Marcus Brinks and G. Carter Greer observed from the bench. About 300 attended, including some 19 judges from various districts. State Sen. Bill Stanley (R-Franklin County) and state Rep. Les Adams (R-Chatham) were among the speakers.
