The City of Martinsville incurred its third death yesterday due to COVID-19 while the outbreak in Patrick County showed no new numbers by the Virginia Department of Health. The source of the outbreak has been identified as the skilled nursing facility Blue Ridge Therapy Connection. As coronavirus cases continue to surge on Virginia's coast, the state will enact bans in the region on alcohol sales after 10 p.m. and gatherings of more than 50 people, Gov. Ralph Northam said Tuesday. The Virginia Department of Health reported 999 new cases of coronavirus. Meanwhile cases in the U.S. is over 4.3 million. The Virginia Department of Health reports this morning there are 87,993 cases and have been 2,125 deaths statewide. Some 7,738 people have been hospitalized. Yesterday there were three new cases of COVID-19 in Henry County, one in Martinsville and four in Franklin County. Martinsville has 156 total cases, 21 hospitalizations and three deaths. Henry County is at 461 with 50 hospitalizations and five deaths. Patrick County has had a total of 104 cases including 18 hospitalizations and three deaths while Franklin County has had 150 cases, eight hospitalizations and one death. Johns Hopkins University's real-time map showed 16,762,605 cases worldwide and 661,012 deaths. In the U.S. there are 4,352,304. There have been 149,351 deaths in the U.S.
