Do you wear a mask? Leadership organizations in Martinsville and Henry County are joining forces on Mask Up MHC to bring masks and awareness through new initiatives. They want you to see your responsibility. In the past week, cases have risen by 100 in the West Piedmont Health District. There also are two new hospitalizations this morning, one each in Henry and Patrick counties. Across the nation, there were 58,000 new cases yesterday, a one-day record, and Texas has made masks mandatory. President Trump has two big events this weekend. The Virginia Department of Health reports this morning reported there are 64,393 cases and have been 1,845 deaths statewide (up 29). Some 6,382 people have been hospitalized. Henry County's number of positive cases increased to 280, with 24 hospitalized and 4 deaths. Martinsville has 81 cases, 12 hospitalized and 1 death. Patrick County has 48 cases, and 3 have been hospitalized, and now 2 dead. Franklin County's total is at 92, with 6 hospitalized and 1 death. Danville now has 91 cases, and Pittsylvania County has 132. Johns Hopkins University's real-time map showed 10,897,074 cases worldwide and 521,874 deaths. In the U.S. there are 2,739,879 cases. There have been 128,740 deaths in the U.S.
