The Virginia Department of Health reports this morning that another person has died of COVID-19 in Henry County. No details have been released by the West Piedmont Health District. This is the third death in the county. Another person in Henry County has been hospitalized, and there are cases involving a child younger than 5 and another between 5 and 10. The county now has surged to 92 cases as of this morning. Martinsville (with another hospitalized case) and Patrick County also have more positive cases in an incredible growth period. Meanwhile, Monogram Snacks in Henry County has been latest company under siege because of how it is handling positive coronavirus tests for its employees. Meanwhile, Gov. Ralph Northam is requiring masks in all public buildings, stores and other gathering places. Deaths in the U.S. will surpass 100,000 today as total cases in Virginia surpassed 40,000. The Virginia Department of Health reports  this morning there are 40,249 cases and 1,281 deaths statewide. Some 4,385 people have been hospitalized. Henry County's number of positive cases increased to 92, with 9 hospitalized and 3 deaths. Martinsville has 29 cases, 6 hospitalized and 1 death. Patrick County now has 15 cases. Franklin County's total is at 35, with 4 hospitalized and 2 deaths. Danville now has 48 cases, and Pittsylvania County now has 35. Johns Hopkins University's real-time map showed 5,615,689 cases worldwide and 351,077 deaths. In the U.S. there are 1,681,418 cases. The Worldmeters coronavirus update -- which always trends a little higher -- shows the death count in the U.S. at 100,684.
