It's rather disappointing to see an assistant professor of history embracing presentism. When did they stop teaching that was an undesirable method of historical analysis? To judge Patrick Henry by today's standards of morality is an error. A type of error once eschewed by history academics but now embraced to use history as a political weapon. It used to be history was taught without an agenda. Sadly that does not seem to be the case anymore...
