Of all the headlines about the scandals concerning the alleged past sins of one after another high official in Virginia, one struck me most poignantly. It was this, from the front page of The Washington Times: “Democrats to vet candidates closely for secrets in past.”

An additional 63 indictments were unsealed on Thursday after having been served in Martinsville, according to records in the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office.

A Martinsville grand jury handed down 194 indictments on Monday, and 156 of those indictments were sealed per a judge’s order. They will be unsealed as served or five days after the order issued.
