Appalachian Power, the utility that provides electricity to about 1 million customers in three states, announced Tuesday that it has named a new president and chief operating officer.
Chris Beam, 47, will replace Charles Patton, 57, who has been president and COO for about six and a half years. That’s according to a news release from Appalachian, based in Charleston, West Virginia, and its parent company, American Electric Power, based in Columbus, Ohio.
Appalachian reported that Patton has been promoted to executive vice president of external affairs for AEP.
