The driver of a car that crashed in Rockbridge County this week has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after the death of a 3-month-old girl, according to a state police spokesman.
A 2000 Chevrolet Lumina traveling north on Interstate 81, half a mile south of Virginia 606, ran off the side of the roadway and overturned at 3:55 a.m. Sunday, Sgt. Rick Garletts said.
Brooklynn Breeden, 3 months, was in a child safety seat and ejected from the vehicle, Garletts said. She died Monday at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
The driver of the car, Brandon Antonio Easterling, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, Garletts said.
No other information about the crash or details about what led to the charge were immediately available Tuesday night.
