ASHLAND, Va. – Averett University men's lacrosse was bested in its season finale at Randolph-Macon College [RV], 29-4 on Friday afternoon.
Randolph-Macon (13-4, 7-3 ODAC) took the lead early in the first and channeled offensive momentum into a period that saw the Yellow Jackets up 9-1 through 15 minutes of play. Senior Emmett Wood put Averett (1-15, 1-9 ODAC) on the board in that same timeframe.
The home team came out the better through the remaining quarters, as it scored at least six or more across that stretch. The Cougars netted three more scores throughout the contest, including Wood for a second, junior Connor Boyd and sophomore Zachary Hulbert.
