Averett University will host Homecoming 2026 on the weekend of Oct. 9-11, 2026. The three-day event will feature activities for alumni, students, faculty, staff and the university community.
The highlight of the weekend will be the homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 10. The Cougars will take on the Shenandoah Hornets at 4 p.m. at Daly Field at the Frank R. Campbell Stadium on the university’s E. Stuart James Grant North Campus. Tickets and reserved tailgating spots are available by contacting the athletics department.
On Friday, Oct. 9, there will be a soccer doubleheader at Daly Field. The men’s team will face Shenandoah at 4 p.m., while the women’s team will take on Randolph-Macon at 6 p.m.
Also on Friday night, the Averett homecoming Meet & Greet, quickly becoming a homecoming highlight, will be held at 2 Witches Winery & Brewing Co., 209 Trade Street in Danville. There will be live music by Gabriel Van. The event starts at 6 p.m.
To wrap up Homecoming 2026, the annual Averett Service of Remembrance will be held Sunday, Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. in Blount Chapel in Frith Hall (160 Mountain View Ave.).
